Host Bios

Nate Hanson is the host and creator of Faith Lab, a podcast that brings serious biblical scholarship out of academic settings and into conversations everyday people can understand. A former pastor and missionary, Nate spent years in deconstruction before discovering a world of historical, textual, and philosophical scholarship he had never meaningfully encountered. That discovery reshaped everything. Faith Lab grows out of his conviction that Christianity can be examined, tested, and thoughtfully taken seriously, and that most people have never been exposed to the scholars doing that work.

Shelby Hanson is the co-host of Faith Lab. She brings an honest, searching perspective to every conversation, asking the kinds of questions many listeners are thinking but rarely hear voiced out loud. Shelby values the teachings of Jesus and the Christian tradition while continuing to wrestle with real questions about faith. Her curiosity and willingness to sit with uncertainty make her a natural bridge for listeners who want to believe but aren’t willing to stop thinking.
